Hailing from Turin, Italy, 5-piece Low Standards, High Fives released their latest single ‘Silent Décor’ this week along with a music video. Taken from their upcoming album Are We Doing The Best We Can? Low Standards, High Fives are building a buzz with their bucolic take on punk-rock with fluctuating tempos and a preeminent sound of guitar in their most recent track. Passion and dedication is what drives Low Standards, High Fives though – their self-produced music video is a look behind the scenes at the faces behind the music. It’s almost parodic, with wigs and headbands strewn across the screen. The video is just a showcase of the band enjoying what they do, and that’s why Low Standards, High Fives are an exciting band to look out for.
‘Silent Décor’ keeps in tune with the distinctive sound that Low Standards, High Fives have already established, although there’s a maturity that’s progressive in their development. Their last EP Enough that was released in 2015 got the band started and earned them their place in such a fast pace industry. Set on bringing their music to a wider audience of music fans who enjoy the grittier side of alt-rock and indie, the five-piece sit well in playlists alongside Jaw Breaker, Hunter Gatherer and Red Car Burns. Are We Doing The Best We Can? isset to be released on the last day of March via U.K./US record label, Engineer Records and will be available on their Spotify here and BandCamp here where they are offering a pay what you want to support them.
